No good news here: now that farmers’ organisation LTO stopped the negotiations, the coalition is going to “solve” the issue with the farmers on its own. Two months ago they already gave permission to buy out farmers, something that the largest parties in the country do NOT want. This coalition however does exactly what it wants and so we can await some more bad decisions – bad for the country, bad for the farmers and good for no-one – in the coming weeks. One luck: the House has its mouth full of the reces, which is the summer recess that takes about two months or so. So maybe we are lucky that decisions won’t be taken now yet.
